class of 1992

Chad Foreman: In high school, I played the trombone and really enjoyed jazz ensemble. I was in the marching band but played football my jr and sr year. Also I was in orchestra. Anyway, I was in a serious accident 4 days after graduation and couldn't proceed with my military career. Bummed and not sure what to do with my life, I left for West Virginia to be a white water rafting guide in the Spring of 1997. 10 years later I decided to go to college. Right now I am at WVU Tech and in the jazz ensemble. Also I will be in the marching band in the fall. Tonight (being winter time) I played in the pep band at the Tech basketball game. More...

I currently work for Haines Publishing as an Account Executive, but I teach piano lessons one day a week at 88 Keys Music Studio.

Yedida Kanfer: I'm in Poland for the year, doing research for my dissertation. In general, I'm doing a Russian history PhD at Yale, I'm in my fifth year. As for music...I took piano lessons at the Manhattan School of Music all through college, but eventually I stopped both piano and violin in favor of something much more social--and international: a capella singing.

Now that I am done I am freelancing around Michigan, I have a private studio of about 15 students, and I'm taking auditions for a full time playing job.

Laura Smith: I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music in Education. While at BGSU, I played piccolo in the Falcon Marching Band and was a member of the Collegiate Chorale. I am currently teaching middle school choir at Starling Middle School, Columbus City Schools. I'm also a member of the Columbus Symphony Chorus.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Schleicher: I graduated with a BM in vocal performance from Otterbein college in 2006 and am now pursuing an MM in Voice performance and Literature at Northwestern University. In February I will be performing in Northwestern's productions of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Nights Dream playing the role of Helena. I am also a graduate assistant teaching non-voice majors at NU and I teach voice lessons at a local high school in Chicago. I will graduate in June 2008. No plans after that as of yet.

Celia Smith: Right now I live in the New York City area with my husband. I am taking voice lessons at Manhattan School of Music and am thinking about applying to their Grad School program for Opera. I am also working on auditions and working on mostly classical singing but doing some Broadway/contemporary stuff. I just finished traveling for a year with my husband with The Lion King where I was working Merchandise and also participating in some of the benefit productions that we put on for Equity Fights AIDS.

class of 2003

Jesse Carithers: I just graduated from Ohio University this year (2007) with a degree in social sciences. I was a member of "The Most Exciting Band In The Land," The Marching 110 for 4 years as a member of the drumline. I was the marching section leader for the band the last 2 years I was there. I am currently persuing a career as a police officer and have been in the United States Air Force National Guard for the Past 4 years. I still instruct high school drumlines over the summer for 3 high schools; Johnstown HS, New Lexington HS, and Lakewood HS. The Marching 110 puts on an incredible show at the end of every fall season at the Ohio Theater in downtown Columbus. For more information on that and the 110 in general go to www.ohio.edu/marching110

Adam Horton: I'm in my first year of graduate school at Purdue, majoring in Computer Engineering. I got my bachelors in fall 2007 in computer engineering. I have been very involved in the band program during my tenure at Purdue, including being section leader of the marching band, and playing lead alto sax in the top jazz band at Purdue. I will be singing with a jazz band this spring for the first time. Also, this summer, Purdue's marching band will be traveling to Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympic festival and I will be going.

Andrea Kopp: I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Applied Health Science in Human Development and Family Studies in May 2007, and recently started graduate school at the Ohio State University pursuing a Masters in Occupational Therapy. While at Indiana University I was a member of the Marching Hundred for 4 years and of the Honorary Band Fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi. I recently came out of marching band retirement to accompany the Marching Hundred to Tempe, Arizona for the Insight Bowl. I marched pregame and halftime and was glad to return to marching for a few days.

Joni Ogle: I graduated from Ohio State in 2006. I'm currently working at the YWCA as a case manager and just bought a house in Worthington!

class of 2004

Allison Smith: I attend Ohio University where I am double majoring in Music History and Music Education. I am a member of University Singers.

Micah Smith: I'm in what is hopefully my final year of undergrad in Anthropology with plans for archaeology. I've attended field schools in Chicago and Belize, and worked in a teaching capacity at a field school in Ecuador in the summer of 2007. I will be returning once again as a staff member to Ecuador next summer. I volunteer at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago in the Ancient Americas exhibit, and it's great [especially the free admission to any museum in Chicago]. As far as music goes, I'm not playing anymore outside of my own room, but I do work as a bartender at the Oriental, Palace, and LaSalle Bank Theatres downtown where the Broadway shows play, so I get to be around it most days of the week.

class of 2005

Shani Hadjian: I go to the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut and am majoring in Music Theatre. To date, I have been in “Once on This Island,” “Equus,” “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” and a new musical called “Mariel.” This spring I will be in “She Loves Me.” School is going well. I have a 3.9 cum and am taking courses like music theory, ear training, acting, ballet, tap, jazz, voice and speech, Shakespeare, choir, private voice lessons, modern drama, and movement. They are all amazing. My role in “Mariel” was my biggest to date at the school. Freshman are not allowed to perform so I started my sophomore year with “Once On This Island.” First semester Junior year I was a lead in “Mariel.” Because it was a new musical it was a difficult but interesting and educational process. We worked closely with the writers and composer and got to see how a musical is formed. The script was constantly changing and growing or shrinking. I was given two new songs two days before opening night. It was extremely difficult (not to mention terrifying and strenuous) but it taught my cast of 14 a lot.

Alana Muhlberger: I'm in my third year at Ohio University and majoring in anthropology. I'm planning on going on to grad school in archaeology, maybe specializing in the Roman Empire. I keep up music here by being a member of the Marching 110 (on clarinet), and I've participated in symphonic band and taken oboe lessons. I was also a guinea pig for a friend's music education class and learned how to play the trumpet!

class of 2006

Josh Ramos: I went to the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. No band, but I kept up playing clarinet and bass guitar. I still write music off and on. I currently work security at Heinz field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and am taking online classes to compete my BA in Criminal Justice. I am engaged and expecting a little boy February 8th.

class of 2007

Abby McIntire: I attend Columbus State.

Ben Prater: I attend Ohio University where I am majoring in music education. I am a member of the Ohio University Marching 110 and the Singing Men of Ohio.
