Those eligible to apply for scholarships are students who are members of a Bexley City Schools performance group and whose families are current members of Bexley Music Parents (BMP). Non-members are not permitted to apply. Families may join BMP at any time during the year.

Two types of BMP scholarships are available and apply to programs / lessons occurring during the school year and including the summer:

• The Allegro Scholarship:
  A $50 scholarship which may be used for private music lessons or music ensembles.
• The Bravo Scholarship:
  Will cover 10% of a program's fee, up to a maximum of $200.

The student, a parent or guardian, and the appropriate Bexley City Schools music teacher must sign scholarship applications. The application may be obtained from the music teacher or downloaded from the BMP web site.

Rules and Exceptions:

• Scholarships are awarded for programs and activities that directly enrich a student's music participation at school.
• Individual scholarships are not available for school-sponsored trips or for the high school band/orchestra summer camp.
• Only the Allegro Scholarship may be applied toward music lessons.
• Scholarships for music lessons are made payable to the private teacher.
• All scholarship applications should be received by May 1st of the current school year. Contact the scholarship chairperson if this deadline cannot be met.
